What will I study?
To achieve the Award you must pass Unit 201 The Legal Environment, and one further unit from the list of subjects below:
- Unit 203 Principles of Criminal Liability
- Unit 204 Principles of Debt Recovery
- Unit 205 Employment Matters
- Unit 206 Personal Injury Procedures
- Unit 207 Consumer Matters
- Unit 208 Family Matters
- Unit 209 Probate Practice and Administration
- Unit 210 Land and Conveyancing
Course Design
When you enrol with ITC you will receive the course materials. The compulsory unit on the Legal Environment is assessed by a multiple choice test. This can be taken under the supervision of your employer or an external City & Guilds approved centre. The other units are assessed by a written assignment made up of practical tasks. Your ITC tutor will mark your assignments and advise CIty & Guilds of your mark.
Your course is valid for one year and you must complete the assignments for all modules within this period.

Further Study
Once you have completed your Level 2 Award in Legal Studies you may wish to consider studying for an ILEX Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice, which is a higher-level paralegal qualification. The Certificate in Law and Practice also contributes towards the first stage of legal executive training - the ILEX Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice.
