About Specialist Knowledge/Re-training/CPD

If you are a practitioner seeking to develop knowledge in a selected area of law or practice, or to meet your CPD requirements, please select from the following options:

In-depth knowledge in a law or practice subject

We offer 14 law subjects at honours-degree level and 7 legal practice subjects at LPC level. Law courses such as Probate and Succession, Employment Law, Immigration Law or Landlord and Tenant Law are ideal for qualified staff moving to a new practice area. The practice courses are ideal for law graduate paralegals seeking a recognised qualification in a legal practice subject such as Conveyancing, Civil Litigation or Probate Practice. These distance learning courses lead to an ILEX Level 6 Single Subject Certificate in the subject studied. They are also recognised for CPD by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. A complete course list and full course details are available here.

Advanced professional skills

Our professional skills courses include advanced Client Care Skills and Legal Research Skills. Both subjects can be studied in the context of a variety of different legal practice contexts. Success in both units leads to the award of an ILEX Level 6 Legal Skills Certificate.

ITC Specialist Courses

Our range of ITC Specialist Courses includes Claimant Personal Injury, Defendant Personal Injury, Insolvency and Debt Recovery and Mortgage Repossession. All of these are recognised for CPD purposes by ILEX,  and the first three listed can also contribute to the SRA's CPD requirements.

CPD updates for Members and Fellows of ILEX

ITC publishes CPD updates for Members and Fellows of ILEX.  The updates cost £12 each and are relevant for any practitioner who wishes to learn of current developments in their subject, but please note that, as they do not include an externally-assessed test, they do not currently attract solicitors' CPD points.
