Gain specialist subject knowledge
If you are a practitioner seeking to develop knowledge in a selected area of law or practice, or to meet your CPD requirements, please select from the following options:
-
We offer fourteen law subjects at honours-degree level and seven legal practice subjects at LPC-level. These distance learning courses lead to an ILEX Level 6 Single Subject Certificate in the subject studied. They are also recognised for CPD by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Law courses such as Employment Law, Immigration Law, Probate and Succession or Landlord and Tenant Law are ideal for qualified staff moving to a new practice area. The practice courses are ideal for law graduate paralegals seeking a recognised qualification in a legal practice subject such as Conveyancing, Civil Litigation or Probate Practice. Selected courses can be used to train to be a will-writer.
-
Our professional skills courses include advanced Client Care Skills and Legal Research Skills. Both subjects can be studied in the context of a variety of different legal practice contexts. Success in both units leads to the award of an ILEX Level 6 Legal Skills Certificate.
-
Our range of ITC Specialist Courses includes Claimant Personal Injury, Defendant Personal Injury, Insolvency and Debt Recovery and Mortgage Repossession. All of these are recognised for CPD purposes by CILEx, and the first three listed can also contribute to the SRA's CPD requirements.
-
ITC publishes CPD updates for Members and Fellows of CILEx. The updates cost £15 each and are relevant for any practitioner who wishes to learn of current developments in their subject, but please note that, as they do not include an externally-assessed test, they do not currently attract solicitors' CPD points.
